No joke, I have a bazillion messages in my ask regarding how I lost weight.
I would absolutely LOVE to answer each and every one of you individually but … I’m lazy. Haha.
Here’s a post I did in July, 2011 regarding work outs and diet:
“DISCLAIMER: I, in no way, think I’m some sort of health guru. This is gonna be a very lengthy discussion so bear with me. And for everything you do, start slowly.
Hmm, I wish you didn’t ask this anonymously. I don’t really wanna post this but you’re not the only one who asked sooooooo I guess I’ll just let this answer be known. Haha. I’m gonna be hella blunt and just say I could quite possibly be the laziest motherfucker in all the world so if I can do it, you can too. WORK OUT ROUTINE: -Honestly, I do the BARE MINIMAL. Basic dumbbell work outs, mid row, seated dip, some chest work out I don’t know the name of (sorry), shoulder press, leg press. -Before any sort of cardio, work on weight training first. It burns the carbs so then by the time you actually do cardio, you’ll be burning fat. Treadmill -I eventually worked my way up to interval training: Walking for a bit, then jogging and alternating between the two every few minutes. After a few weeks, I replaced the jogging with sprinting. (Keep in mind, I’m a smoker so it was extra hard for me). -Don’t watch how many miles you ran/walked, or how many calories you burned. Just keep going. QUICK TIP: Run/walk to songs. In my head I always thought “Okay, walk for the first verse, then run for the chorus, then walk for the second verse, run for the chorus, walk for the bridge, run for the chorus out.” Sometimes, after choruses I would say “Hey, you’re not even tired. Try running for the next verse too!!” and if after the second verse I was still alright, I’d push myself to run until the end of the song!! Stationary Bike -Keep the resistance at a comfortable level (for me, it’s at like a 3-4) for one song. Up it another level for the next song, then another for the song after that. Just keep going up until you feel like your legs fall off. Elliptical -That is the MOST beneficial work out aside from running and this helped me out the most since I hate running so much. Minor shit -Stand, don’t sit. Sit don’t lay down. -Get a good amount of sleep. That’s what keeps you energized all day. Keep in mind that if you’re not pushing yourself, you’re not getting anywhere. This applies to every single work out you do. FOOD -Watch your calories and avoid junk food. Please believe I am the QUEEN of eating chips. I ate chips after breakfast, lunch AND dinner every single day and look where it got me. If you’re a soda person, replace it with water to cut at LEAST 300 calories a day. -You’re still allowed to eat out, but don’t order the entire menu. -If you’re with other people, share something. Or order a half order. OR just take that shit home. Don’t force yourself to finish something just because it’s in front of your face.” Love you all!
Weight Training
-I hate running but it’s the best thing for you, sooooo I started off realllllyyy slowly. I mean I walked on the treadmill, but I made up for lack of running by walking for at LEAST 5 miles at a comfortable incline.
-USE MUSIC
-Just. Fucking. Push it.
- Fidgeting helps a great deal. Yes. Fidgeting. Wiggling your fingers, shaking your leg, all that good stuff. It can help burn 100-300 calories a day which could eventually lead to 10 pounds a year … just by fidgeting.
-Breakfast is extremely important. “Eat breakfast like a king, eat lunch like a prince, eat dinner like a pauper”. This means, eat a great breakfast, a decent lunch, and a light dinner.
